About The Position

Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana, Illinois, is seeking a dependable and experienced Kitchen Assistant to work with the kitchen team. The position prepares, serves, and cleans up meals for youth and staff in the residential treatment facility and school programs, following established standards and guidelines. The typical schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ideal candidate is reliable and efficient and has a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation, public health regulations, bulk food preparation, proper food storage, and food distribution.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Knowledge of public health regulations.
Experience with bulk food preparation, proper storage, and food distribution.
Reliability, efficiency, and ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

Prepare meals for youth and staff in the residential treatment facility and school programs.
Serve meals for youth and staff.
Clean up after meals.
Follow established standards and guidelines for meal preparation, service, and cleanup.
