About The Position

Allegro Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support its culinary team during lunch and dinner service in a senior living community. The role is full-time and scheduled for the PM shift, 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; days vary. The Kitchen Assistant helps maintain a clean, efficient, and safe kitchen and supports timely meal service for residents. Primary duties include setting and bussing tables, washing dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils, maintaining dishwashing equipment, assisting the Cook as needed, and completing cleaning duties. The position also supports food preparation, plating, kitchen organization, and food presentation, and contributes to courteous, smooth Dining Services operations for residents and associates.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food service setting is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have awareness of safety practices.
Must pass a criminal background screening.
Must have a team-first attitude and strong work ethic.
Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of food service or related-field experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the culinary team during lunch and dinner meal service.
Assist with food preparation, plating, and kitchen organization.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
Help ensure smooth and timely meal delivery for residents.
Set and bus tables.
Wash dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils thoroughly.
Properly maintain dishwashing equipment.
Assist the Cook as needed and complete cleaning duties.
Contribute to safe, efficient Dining Services operations.
Pay attention to food presentation and taste, and respond courteously to residents and associates during meal service.
