About The Position

Allegro Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support its culinary and Dining Services team during lunch and dinner service. The role helps keep kitchen operations smooth, efficient, and safe while providing timely meal service to residents. Duties include setting and bussing tables, washing dishes and cookware, assisting the Cook as needed, food preparation and plating, kitchen organization, and cleaning. The Kitchen Assistant also helps maintain sanitation and dishwashing equipment, contributes to food presentation and taste, and responds courteously to residents and associates during meal service. This is a full-time PM-shift role in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Days vary. The community is a drug-free workplace.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food-service setting is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have awareness of safety practices.
Must pass a positive Criminal Background Screening.
Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A team-first attitude and strong work ethic.
No certifications are required.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of food-service experience or experience in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the culinary team during lunch and dinner meal service.
Assist with food preparation and plating, and maintain kitchen organization.
Set tables and bus tables.
Thoroughly wash dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
Properly maintain dishwashing equipment.
Assist the Cook as needed.
Complete cleaning duties and maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Work as part of the Dining Services team to support smooth, efficient, and safe kitchen operations.
Help ensure timely meal delivery to residents.
Pay attention to food presentation and taste, and respond courteously to residents and associates during meal service.
