RN PM Shift Full-Time
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) supervises and coordinates the facility’s day-to-day nursing activities during the PM shift, ensuring quality care in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The RN works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support resident care and satisfaction. The role is based in a skilled nursing environment and involves working closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. It requires periods of standing and walking, occasional lifting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Requirements
- Possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Have at least one year of nursing experience; new graduates are not being considered.
- Hold current CPR certification.
- Have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Be able to provide compassionate, quality care and lead by example.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and ensure quality care during the PM shift.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor resident care for adherence to care plans and facility standards.
- Communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members about resident status and care needs.
- Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges as required.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing training, support, and leadership to nursing assistants and LVNs.
- Maintain documentation and complete reports required by facility policies and regulatory agencies.
