About The Position

Alto Wheaton is hiring a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher for its senior living community. This role offers predictable hours, a supportive team, and a work environment that is distinct from the chaos of a restaurant. The position involves washing and sanitizing dishes, cookware, flatware, and kitchen equipment, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, supporting the culinary team with basic prep and kitchen tasks, and restocking supplies. The goal is to contribute to a high-quality dining experience for residents in a drug-free workplace.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age
Must pass a background screening
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Must have an awareness of safety practices.
Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.

Nice To Haves

6+ months of food service or kitchen experience
Minimum of six (6) months food service (or related field) preferred.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, flatware, and kitchen equipment
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen throughout every shift
Support the culinary team with basic prep and kitchen tasks as needed
Restock supplies and keep stations ready throughout the shift
Be a dependable, team-first presence in a well-run kitchen
Set tables
Bus tables
Assist the Cook as needed
Complete cleaning duties
Properly maintain all dishwashing equipment
Work as part of the Dining Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen
Help contribute to high quality Dining Services operations by paying attention to food presentation and taste, and courteous responses to residents and associates during meal service
