About The Position

Kinesiology is integral in promoting clients’ healing and improving recovery time. This Kinesiologist position at Lifemark Physiotherapy Hazelwood Clinic in Surrey, BC, offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic outpatient clinic. The Hazelwood clinic, operating since 1993, is a 4,000 square feet facility with 10 treatment rooms, a full gym, and is wheelchair accessible and fragrance-free. It specializes in Physiotherapy Rehabilitation, Concussion Care, Pain Management, Occupational Therapy, and Clinical Counselling, with a team of various therapists. The role involves working collaboratively with a team of clinicians and exposure to complex occupational rehab cases, supporting individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and those with physical, cognitive, and mental wellness goals. Lifemark is part of the Shoppers Drug Mart and Loblaw family of companies, aiming to create a connected, patient-first ecosystem for healthcare.

Requirements

  • Registered and in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Access to own vehicle & possess a valid BC driving license for the JSV work.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with clinical outpatient rehabilitation experience in areas such as WorkSafe CRP Program, ICBC, JSV, return to work, mental health, and musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury.
  • Newly licensed Graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist.
  • Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs.
  • Utilize e-charting software to document client sessions; submit reports to stakeholders promptly.
  • Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals.
  • Complete functional components of reports for initial, progress and discharge.
  • Ensure return-to-work plans with the client and employer have been made and documented in the client's chart.
