About The Position

The Early Learning Center kindergarten long-term substitute plans and implements a developmentally responsive curriculum grounded in Blake's Reggio-inspired philosophy. Through careful observation, meaningful relationships, child-led inquiry and intentional teaching, the teacher creates rich learning experiences that cultivate curiosity, critical thinking and joyful engagement while supporting strong foundations in literacy, mathematics and social-emotional development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement curriculum for kindergarten students and oversee student academic progress
  • Work in partnership with parents to identify students’ learning needs and determine the most effective support inside and outside the school setting
  • Communicate openly, honestly and frequently with parents about their children’s successes and struggles
  • Document student progress in written reports
  • Oversee a classroom budget
  • Participate in divisional and all-school faculty meetings and committees
  • Attend and contribute to all-school events such as back-to-school nights and admission open houses
