About The Position

This position is for a teacher in the Barnstable Community Innovation School's Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program. The program aims to prepare students entering kindergarten and 1st grade, along with their families, for school routines, expected behaviors, available supports, and to alleviate any fears they may have. Teachers will introduce entering kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations, model expected behaviors, plan and deliver the jumpstart curriculum and daily activities, provide student data to the Program Coordinator, and conduct school building tours.

Requirements

• Appropriate certification and/or educational background
• Strong planning and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations
• Model expected behaviors in the classroom
• Plan, prepare and deliver jumpstart curriculum & daily activities
• Provide student data to Program Coordinator
• Tour the school building, including cafeteria and gymnasium
