About The Position
The BCIS Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program aims to prepare incoming students and their families for Kindergarten and 1st grade. This program will introduce students to school routines, expected behaviors, available supports, and help alleviate fears. Teacher Assistants will play a crucial role in this by assisting with the introduction of incoming Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations, modeling expected behaviors, and helping deliver age-appropriate activities. Teacher Assistants will also ride the school bus with students in the morning and afternoon to model expected behaviors.
Requirements
- Appropriate certification and/or educational background
- Strong planning and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Assist with the introduction of the incoming Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations
- Assist with modeling expected behaviors in the classroom
- Assist with the delivery of age appropriate activities
- Ride the school bus in the morning and afternoon with students to model expected behaviors on the school bus
