About The Position

This position is for the HYW Kindergarten & 1st Grade Jumpstart Summer Program. The program aims to prepare students entering Hyannis West Elementary kindergarten and 1st grade for school routines, expected behaviors, available supports, and to alleviate fears. Teachers will introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations, model expected behaviors, plan and deliver the jumpstart curriculum and daily activities, and provide student data to the Program Coordinator. Teachers will also conduct a tour of the school building, including the cafeteria and gymnasium. Program staff will report to school and/or program administration and follow participating students’ progress.

Requirements

• Appropriate certification and/or educational background
• Strong planning and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Introduce entering Kindergarten students to the classroom setting, routines, and expectations
