About The Position

The Kids Club Program Leader serves as a role model for children and helps create a safe, fun, and enriching drop-in environment. As a team member, the leader supervises and interacts with children, supports their growth through developmentally appropriate activities, and maintains a safe, engaging program space. The role also includes other duties assigned by the Director.

Requirements

Commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Commitment to building developmental assets in adults and youth.
At least one year of progressive experience in an organized child care setting.
Certification in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid, or certification within 30 days of hire.
Complete YMCA trainings within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Work with the supervisor to develop and implement age-appropriate developmental curriculum.
Implement age-appropriate enrichment activities according to the weekly plan.
Model appropriate and constructive discipline.
Maintain a personal work schedule covering direct shift hours while the program is open.
Maintain a clean, fun, and engaging program environment while on duty.
Enforce safety and risk management standards covered in YMCA training.
Maintain the quality and condition of program items and equipment.
Respond flexibly and responsibly to situations that may not match training scenarios.
Track children using the program tracking system information sheet.
Communicate with parents and families to provide updates about children in the program.
Participate in and practice YMCA branch emergency drills.
Support YMCA strategic and branch goals related to Youth Development, Healthy Living, Member Experience, and Social Responsibility.
Remain actively engaged with children in the program.
Uphold and enforce branch and YMCA of Silicon Valley policies and procedures.
