About The Position

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. The ministry is made up of two operating entities: Lenawee Christian School and the Christian Family Centre, located in Adrian, MI. Lenawee Christian School exists in partnership with the family and church to integrate Biblical truth for life with a commitment to glorifying Jesus Christ through academic excellence and spiritual maturity. The Christian Family Centre is a world-class fitness and family activity facility that strives to assist families and individuals grow in their physical, social, and spiritual wellness with Jesus Christ being the center. The Kids Care Program Manager oversees the daily operations and coordination of Centre-based childcare programming, including before-school and after-school care. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children while supporting staff, maintaining compliance with childcare regulations, and delivering high-quality service to families. This position is a hands-on operational role that includes direct involvement in program execution, staff supervision, and administrative coordination.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development highly preferred (An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, paired with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 480 hours of work experience, may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, paired with 18 semester hours in early childhood education or child development and 480-960 hours of work experience, may be accepted in lieu of any degree. In absence of a degree or CDA credential, then 60 completed semester hours, with 18 hours in early childhood education or child development and 1920 hours of work experience may be accepted).
  • 2–4 years of experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting.
  • Transcripts, diploma and/or proof of credentials must be provided, along with proof of work hours.
  • Understanding of childcare safety practices and supervision requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
  • Basic proficiency in administrative and tracking systems.
  • Regular, reliable, and on-site attendance is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, fingerprinting, and compliance with the ministry’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Commitment.
  • Agreement with and support of the school’s biblical values.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily childcare operations, ensuring consistent execution of program schedules and activities.
  • Coordinate before-school and after-school programming, including activity planning and supervision.
  • Ensure proper child-to-staff ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Support the development and implementation of age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide direct supervision of children as needed to support staffing coverage and program needs.
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all participants.
  • Enforce check-in and check-out procedures to ensure child safety and accountability.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, injuries, or behavioral situations.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding Kids Care staff.
  • Create and manage staff schedules based on program enrollment and needs.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to staff during program hours.
  • Monitor staff performance and communicate concerns to leadership.
  • Support adherence to all childcare licensing requirements and Centre policies.
  • Maintain required documentation, including incident reports and attendance records.
  • Ensure staff maintain required certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED).
  • Assist in preparing for inspections and audits.
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents regarding program operations and child-related matters.
  • Communicate program expectations, updates, and concerns clearly and professionally.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for families.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and program participation.
  • Assist with enrollment tracking and reporting.
  • Support ordering and organization of program supplies.
  • Ensure childcare areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Model Christ-centered values in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
  • Support a positive, respectful, and faith-based environment within the program.
