About The Position

The Key Carrier role is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers alternate duties based on store needs, predominantly performing Coordinator responsibilities and occasionally acting as Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. Key Carriers must have open availability, including nights and weekends, and role model exceptional customer service. The position creates positive internal and external customer experiences, promotes honesty and integrity, and maintains confidentiality. As Manager on Duty, the Key Carrier follows company policy and procedure, ensures store tasks align with the store plan, addresses immediate customer service issues, and supports Associates through coaching, feedback, recognition, and training. The role also helps maintain operational standards, accurate Associate coverage, legal and policy compliance, credit and loyalty programs, shrink reduction, and a safe store environment. The position is located at Homesense Store 2044 in Columbus, Ohio. Starting pay is $15.50 to $16.00 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
At least 1 year of retail experience.
At least 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create positive internal and external customer experiences.
Promote honesty and integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
Act as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policy and procedure.
Ensure the store team performs tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Address immediate customer service issues and provide appropriate coaching to Associates.
Use discretion with customer service policies to satisfy customers.
Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas.
Ensure Associates follow operational procedures.
Ensure opening and closing procedures are performed according to company guidelines.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Provide feedback, recognition, and coaching to Associates.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
