About The Position

The Key Carrier role is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers primarily perform Coordinator duties and occasionally act as Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. The role requires open availability, including nights and weekends, and models exceptional customer service. The Key Carrier creates positive customer experiences, acts as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policy and procedure, and helps ensure the store team follows the store plan and operational procedures. The role supports opening and closing procedures, maintains Associate coverage in service areas, addresses customer service issues, and provides coaching and feedback to Associates. Key Carriers communicate priorities and progress to management and Associates, partner with Management on training, support credit and loyalty programs and shrink reduction, and promote a safe environment and compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures. The position is at Marshalls Store 0809 in Madison, Alabama. Starting pay is $14.75 to $15.25 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Act as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policy and procedure.
Ensure the store team performs tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Address immediate customer service issues, coach Associates, and use discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers.
Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas.
Ensure Associates follow operational procedures and opening and closing procedures are completed according to company guidelines.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback; provide feedback, recognition, and coaching to Associates.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
