About The Position

We are seeking a commercially minded Key Account Manager/Business Development Manager to join our growing team. This role is central to a leading broker network, focusing on helping members grow their businesses, strengthening insurer partnerships, and identifying value-adding opportunities. The position involves managing and developing relationships with broker members and insurer partners, acting as a trusted advisor, champion, and connector. The ideal candidate will excel at building strong partnerships, spotting commercial opportunities, and influencing business growth. The role requires the candidate to be located in London, specifically North/North East London, Essex, Hertfordshire, or Suffolk, due to the portfolio managed. As a Key Account Manager/Business Development Manager, you will support the growth and success of member brokers by promoting insurer partnerships, facilitating business opportunities, and ensuring members maximize network benefits. You will serve as the primary contact for members and insurer partners, assisting with challenges, driving engagement, and identifying avenues for business development and growth.

Requirements

  • Commercially focused insurance professional with experience in building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering results.
  • Insurance experience, ideally in broking, underwriting, account management, or business development.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance market and broker distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, as the role is field-based.
  • Car allowance provided.

  • Building strong relationships with broker members and insurer partners to drive growth and engagement.
  • Identifying and developing commercial opportunities that deliver value for members and partners.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact, providing support, guidance, and solutions.
  • Promoting the network's products, services, and business opportunities to help members succeed.
  • Working closely with internal teams to support member retention, development, and new business growth.
  • Attending meetings, events, and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships and expand your portfolio.
  • Contributing to business improvement initiatives and supporting wider strategic projects.
