Christmas Kettle Worker

The Salvation Army Southern California•Portland, OR
•Onsite

About The Position

The Kettle Worker rings bells at assigned locations as part of The Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraising efforts. As the first point of public contact for the Christmas fundraising campaign, the worker is expected to provide courteous, friendly, professional service to the public. The role involves greeting donors, collecting donations, answering questions or directing people to an appropriate Salvation Army representative, and following instructions while working independently. This is a seasonal position with various, irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Workers may need to stand or sit for extended periods outdoors in changing weather and may encounter noise, dust, dirt, interruptions, and members of the public who are angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated. Regular and punctual attendance is essential. The selected candidate must pass a criminal history information check; a conviction does not automatically preclude employment. The Salvation Army’s dress code will be provided at employment or orientation, and workers must wear provided identification and any special clothing while at the kettle stand and return the identification at the end of employment.
