Kennel Technician
About The Position
Animal Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and hands-on Kennel Technician to provide exceptional daily care and maintain a clean, safe environment for the pets entrusted to them. This role is essential to the health, comfort, and happiness of boarding pets and contributes to the overall success of the veterinary team. The Kennel Technician will play a vital part in the daily care and well-being of patients, including providing daily boarding care (feeding, walking, cleaning, monitoring), maintaining clean and safe kennel areas, bathing and performing basic grooming services, assisting veterinary staff with pet handling and comfort support, and monitoring pets for changes in behavior or health. This is an active, fast-paced position requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and a love for animals.
Requirements
- Compassionate, dependable, and energized by hands-on work with animals
- Comfortable around dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Willingness to clean (sanitation is a major part of this role)
- Ability to be on your feet most of the day
- Ability to lift and handle pets and equipment safely
- Ability to work independently rather than as part of a team
- Genuine love for animals
Responsibilities
- Providing daily boarding care (feeding, walking, cleaning, monitoring)
- Maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe kennel areas
- Bathing and performing basic grooming services (nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expression)
- Assisting veterinary staff with safe pet handling and comfort support
- Monitoring pets for changes in behavior or health and promptly reporting concerns
- Treating every pet as if they were your own
