About The Position
Briarcrest Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dependable, mature, compassionate, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Kennel Assistant/Animal Care Attendant. We are looking for someone who is interested in a long-term position with a stable, locally owned veterinary practice--not just a temporary job. If you enjoy working with animals, take pride in keeping things clean and organized, and have a strong work ethic, we'd love to meet you.
Requirements
- Must be comfortable being on their feet throughout the day, lifting, bending and performing routine cleaning tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Holiday availability is required.
- A pre-employment background check and drug screening are required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous veterinary or kennel experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Providing daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, turtles, tortoises hedgehogs, and other small animals
- Walking dogs and providing supervised outdoor exercise as appropriate
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages and enclosures
- Scooping litter boxes and maintaining feline housing areas
- Cleaning and caring for our reptile room
- Laundry and general housekeeping duties
- Helping maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for all patients
