Kennel Support Associate - Club Pet
About The Position
As a Kennel Support Associate within the Club Pet Boarding Facility at the Helen Woodward Animal Center, you will provide animals with individualized comfort and care during their stay. This role involves maintaining animal records, ensuring animals have necessary bedding and water, meeting standards for exercise, individual attention, feeding, hygiene, and administering light medications as required. A significant part of the role includes cleaning kennels to maintain a safe and healthy environment, and monitoring the emotional and physical condition of the pets. The Kennel Support Associate plays a key role in contributing to the wellbeing of the animals under their supervision.
Requirements
- Some animal handling experience required, preferably in a kennel environment
- Ability to properly handle, exercise, and control large dogs and/or cats, difficult cats and exotic animals
- Able to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work closely with animal (dog, cat, exotics) hair/dander
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with others (including co-workers, customers, and others) by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; and addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
