Kennel Support Associate - Club Pet
About The Position
As a Kennel Support Associate within the Club Pet Boarding Facility at the Helen Woodward Animal Center, you will be responsible for providing individualized comfort and care to animals during their stay. This includes maintaining animal records, ensuring animals have necessary bedding and water, meeting standards for exercise, individual attention, feeding, hygiene, and administering light medications as required. A significant portion of the role involves extensive cleaning of kennels to maintain a safe and healthy environment, as well as monitoring the emotional and physical condition of the pets. This position plays a key role in contributing to the wellbeing of the animals under your supervision.
Requirements
- Some animal handling experience required, preferably in a kennel environment
- Ability to properly handle, exercise, and control large dogs and/or cats, difficult cats and exotic animals
- Able to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work closely with animal (dog, cat, exotics) hair/dander
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with others (including co-workers, customers, and others) by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner
- Listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others
- Keep commitments
- Keep others informed of work progress, timetables and issues
- Address problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
