About The Position
The K96/X33 PST Foreman supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skills, experience, and job knowledge. The Foreman supervises and trains employees to improve the quality and quantity of work, recommends training to enhance employee skills and productivity, and assists with developing training procedures. The role breaks broad strategies into practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to carry them out. The Foreman is responsible for technical compliance, including adherence to drawings and procedures, and oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance. The role supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance across all shifts. Newport News Shipbuilding offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus to eligible Foreman new hires; current Newport News Shipbuilding employees are eligible.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Meet one of the following education and experience pathways: a bachelor's degree; apprentice certification; a high school education plus four years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience; or an associate degree in a trade/technical field plus three years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade, and/or military experience.
