K-5 Classroom Teachers
About The Position
The K–5 Certified Educator delivers high-quality, standards-aligned instruction supporting elementary students’ academic, social, and emotional development. The role calls for a passionate, student-centered educator who fosters a positive classroom culture, differentiates instruction, and collaborates with colleagues and families to support student success. The educator plans and delivers engaging lessons aligned to state standards and school curriculum, uses assessment data to adjust instruction, and prepares lesson plans, materials, and assessments. The position also involves maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom, monitoring student progress and attendance, participating in RTI/MTSS processes as needed, communicating with families, collaborating with staff, and meeting professional and regulatory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Valid state teaching certification for Elementary Education (K–5).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary instructional best practices.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working in a charter school setting.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.
- ESL, Reading Endorsement, or Special Education certification, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned to state standards and school curriculum.
- Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
- Use data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction.
- Integrate technology and instructional strategies to enhance learning.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom management strategies aligned with school-wide expectations.
- Promote positive student behavior and character development.
- Administer formative and summative assessments.
- Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and interventions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
- Participate in RTI/MTSS processes as needed.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom updates.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Collaborate with support staff, administrators, and colleagues to support student achievement.
- Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional learning communities, and required trainings.
- Comply with school policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
- Uphold the charter school’s mission, vision, and values.
