Uncommon Schools is seeking experienced and apprentice teachers for all grades and subjects for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 school years. Teachers are primarily responsible for implementing Uncommon’s curriculum and supporting student success. They are expected to continually improve their instructional practice through collaboration, feedback, and targeted professional development within their school community. Teachers implement rigorous curricula, assess student progress, adapt instruction to student needs, and foster a positive, structured learning environment aligned with the school’s values and expectations. The role also involves communicating with students, families, and colleagues; attending annual staff orientation and ongoing instructional training; and participating in grade-level activities and school-wide functions. Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit network of public charter schools serving economically disadvantaged communities in Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, and Rochester. The organization provides coaching, feedback, and professional development to educators and is committed to preparing students for college and beyond. Compensation is $56,000–$80,000. Starting pay depends on factors including full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $56,000. The organization offers paid time off and breaks, training and development, insurance and other health-related benefits, retirement benefits based on role eligibility, paid leave options, and mental health and wellness support.
