The San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department’s mission is to serve the needs of youth, young adults and families who are brought to our attention with care and compassion. Juvenile Hall Counselors are peace officers as defined by section 830.5 (b) of the Penal Code. Under general supervision, they are responsible for the care, custody, safety and welfare of young people detained at Juvenile Hall.
