About The Position

Clay County is accepting applications for an open position as a Full-Time Juvenile Detention Worker in the Non-Secure CLIPS unit with the West Central Regional Juvenile Center. You must be male to be considered for this position. Shifts are day/evenings. This position will be eligible for Clay County’s benefit package, along with opportunities for career development and personal growth.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or a technical school or (60 credits or more)
  • 3-6 months experience working with at-risk population.
  • Must be male
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation

  • If you are an eligible military veteran and wish to claim Veteran’s Preference, you must present a legible photocopy of your DD214 form to the Office of Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and ensures the safety and security of clients.
  • Assists in the supervision of mandated programming for residents
  • Complete intakes of all new admits into the juvenile center.
  • Performs safety inspections at night.
  • Attend staff trainings.
  • Perform custodial functions including building safety and security.
