As a Juvenile Detention Security Officer - Intake in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help support daily operations through a strong security-related presence. This is a driving post. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, screening visitors, documenting entries and exits, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe unusual conditions.
• Support intake and visitor management processes by maintaining accurate logs, communicating post instructions, and following established protocols for restricted areas.
