Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, verify identification and/or credentials, screen incoming and outgoing traffic, and document authorized access in accordance with post orders and security-related protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated buildings, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of daily activities, access events, and incident observations, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or onsite personnel.
