About The Position

As a Juvenile Detention Security Officer - Entry in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily operations through visible presence, routine patrols, and strong communication. This is a driving post. You will provide customer-focused service while helping to deter security-related incidents in a dynamic environment that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Security experience of 6+ months is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, identification checks, and authorized entry protocols at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or secured areas to help control access, verify credentials, and document visitor activity in accordance with site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or security-related concerns.
  • Support emergency response activities and assist with directing foot traffic, visitor processing, and/or restricted area access based on post orders and operational needs.
