Requirements

  • COLA, DPSS, and DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification, screening visitors, and monitoring entry and exit activity at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as appropriate.
  • Monitor doors, gates, checkpoints, and restricted areas to help support authorized access, document unusual activity, and report security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for maintenance issues, unsecured access points, and other conditions that may require notification or follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and follow post orders and client-specific guidelines related to youth services and government operations.
