As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Checkpoint in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Possess customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and document visitor and/or vehicle activity to help support security-related operations and controlled access requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public officials as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and/or policy violations.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation related to access control, arrivals and departures, and other security-related observations.
