As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Screening in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help manage authorized access, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public officials as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, unsecured entry points, and other security-related concerns.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports related to access activity, incidents, and daily observations, and help support orderly operations through consistent application of post instructions.
