About The Position

As a Juvenile Corrections Security Guard - Entry Screening in Union, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will help manage access control, monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. In this role, you will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with DPSS/DHS COLA requirements.
  • Security-related experience of at least 6 months is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, control authorized access, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted and/or controlled areas.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, access control issues, and other security-related concerns.
  • Support intake and visitor processing activities, maintain accurate access logs and/or reports, and follow established procedures for screening, escorts, and movement throughout the location.
