As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Badging in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a government setting, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and communicating professionally with staff and guests. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and authorized personnel while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and help control access to restricted areas within a government juvenile justice location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the facility perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.
  • Document incidents, access-control activities, and unusual observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
