You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Must meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and authorized guests by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor sign-in processes, and direct individuals to appropriate locations within the government facility.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited-entry attempts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding areas, and perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity, unsecured doors, and other security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, visitor records, and key or access-control documentation in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
