Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorizations, and visitor entry requirements in accordance with site procedures.
  • Control entry and exit of personnel, visitors, vehicles, and deliveries; maintain accurate access-related logs and documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, facility areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
