As a Correctional Security Officer - Armed in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license in the job state and an armed guard card or license. Bring strong communication and customer service skills while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess at least one year of law enforcement experience, two years of security supervisor or manager experience, or three years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and other authorized individuals by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, entry points, and other designated locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals entering or leaving designated areas in accordance with established correctional facility procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document events as required.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while communicating observations and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
