Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be able to meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have access control and badge experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth, and authorized contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, credentials, and authorization; maintain visitor logs; and direct individuals according to established entry and exit procedures.
  • Monitor access points, alarms, cameras, and communication systems; report unusual activity, prohibited items, or access concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, exits, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized access and support a secure environment.
