Requirements

  • Meet DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established facility procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, unauthorized access attempts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Document daily activities, access-control events, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting requirements.
