As an Access Control Security Professional at a government juvenile services location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and support a secure, welcoming environment. You will use computer or tablet systems, communicate professionally with staff and visitors, and help address security-related concerns. Requirements

  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and youth residents by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities within a government juvenile services location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established facility procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited-entry attempts, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, access-control issues, and unusual observations in clear, accurate reports.
