About The Position

We are currently seeking a Juvenile Case Manager to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate and perform a variety of case management functions on behalf of the City's Municipal Court; prepare and maintain case records; conduct home, office and school visits; monitor juveniles/minors for compliance with court orders; provides information to the Court as to a child's home environment, child's developmental, psychological and educational status, child's previous interaction with the Justice System and make recommendations that are in the best interest of the child.

Requirements

  • Performing a variety of case management functions on behalf of the Municipal Court.
  • Conducting field visits and monitoring juveniles for compliance with court orders.
  • Interacting with juveniles, parents, and school officials regarding case related matters.
  • Preparing, updating, and maintaining case records, reports, and documentation.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other staff, court/law enforcement personnel, school officials, juveniles, and parents.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; two years' experience working with juveniles and two years' case management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.
  • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and processes all juvenile and minor related offenses filed in Municipal Court.
  • Oversees Teen Court Program.
  • Manages assigned juvenile caseloads and provides case management services to defendants.
  • Interacts and communicates with juveniles, parents, school officials and other agencies regarding case related matters.
  • Conducts field visits to client homes and schools; monitors juveniles for compliance with Court orders.
  • Follows up and ensures individuals issue apologies, pay fines, attend classes, and/or conduct community service as mandated by the Court.
  • Prepares and sends reminders to juveniles and parents regarding court ordered obligations.
  • Assists in preparing juveniles for court proceedings; monitors and ensures defendants maintain compliance with the Court's juvenile dress code.
  • Performs case research; prepares, scans, indexes, and maintains various types of case documentation.
  • Assists with supervising the juvenile community service activities as required.
  • Obtains juvenile fingerprints; prepares and processes documentation for the transfer of individuals to the City's Juvenile Justice Center.
  • Prepares daily, monthly and yearly reports.
  • Make recommendations and relay information relevant to assisting the Judge in making decisions in the best interest of the child.
