Junk Removal and Route Sales Associate
About The Position
Southwind is hiring a full-time Junk Removal and Route Sales Associate for its Field Sales & Service Team in Troy, Michigan. The role combines customer service, on-site sales, and hands-on junk removal. Associates create positive customer experiences, provide estimates, discuss pricing, and close sales while safely removing items from homes and businesses. They also drive, navigate, and operate box trucks; training is provided. No prior junk removal experience is required. Daily recorded role-play scenarios support ongoing training, skill development, and performance improvement. The schedule is four to five shifts per week, including one mandatory weekend shift and three to four weekday shifts. Shifts last 8–10 hours and may fall between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, depending on business needs. Employees must remain available for four weekdays and one weekend day each week. Compensation is $25–$28 per hour, described as $13.75 plus profit share and tips. Employees must maintain the stated uniform standards while at the office, whether on or off the clock: brown belt, brown steel-toe boots, navy blue work pants or shorts, and company-provided branded polo, ball cap or beanie, and sweatshirt. A valid DOT Medical Card is required to drive commercial vehicles; Southwind covers the full cost of obtaining DOT medical certification.
