About The Position

As a Junior System Administrator, you’ll join a top-notch team in support of NAVAIR’s new Simulators at Sea (S@S) system. This system increases aviator readiness and is the first integrated training capability for an air wing to deploy on a Navy carrier. Get in on the ground floor of an exciting DoD initiative!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in a STEM area of study, preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a Systems Administrator; internship experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems is required; experience with Linux is a plus.
  • Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) domain controller servers for managing authentication, authorization, and network resources.
  • Knowledge of log aggregation and analysis across multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with Windows PowerShell is preferred.
  • Candidates must meet DoD 8140-M Basic level qualification requirements. At a minimum, candidates must hold a Security+ certification (or higher) to be considered.
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.
  • Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with TS eligibility.
  • Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Linux is a plus.
  • Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows PowerShell is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, testing, and implementing system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Integrating new software applications within complex, mission-critical environments.
  • Applying and maintaining operating system security configurations in alignment with DISA STIG requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving system flaws, implementing technical controls to strengthen cybersecurity.
  • Conducting vulnerability scans and assessments to safeguard systems from potential threats.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software issues within integrated environments to maintain seamless operations.
