About The Position

The Junior Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining existing accounts, qualifying new business opportunities, assisting with sales strategies, conducting sales calls, increasing hotel revenue by generating new business, and supporting the overall achievement of market sales goals. This position serves as a bridge between Sales Coordinator and Sales Manager roles, providing direct support to the Area Director of Sales while developing skills in prospecting, client relationship management, and revenue generation.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, with a background in hospitality, customer service, or sales support experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems for reporting and tracking sales performance.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing accounts, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
  • Assist with the management and development of existing corporate, group, and local business accounts.
  • Audit the sales system for accuracy, space conflicts, and space control on behalf of the department director.
  • Support the implementation of approved sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, lead summaries, production reports, and market intelligence updates.
  • Monitor room block inventory and assist with group reservation management.
  • Manage company accounts, prepare reports, and maintain an organized filing system.
  • Foster relationships with in-house meeting planners to promote goodwill and repeat business.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain rapport with local civic groups and associations to generate business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present sales call reports, internal sales reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Attend sales meetings, BEO meetings, and client functions as directed by the Director of Sales.
