About The Position

Decision Technologies seeks a Junior Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team in Austin, TX. We are seeking a Junior Quality Assurance Analyst to support quality, testing, and documentation activities in a U.S. federal contract environment. In this role, you will perform software and content testing, defect reporting, editing, and proofreading across multiple teams and projects, while helping to maintain and continuously improve the program’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards established under the contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to build hands-on quality assurance experience within a structured, compliance-driven federal program. Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in Quality Assurance and QA testing or demonstrated knowledge of QA and testing practices.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, bug tracking and defect management systems.
  • Ability to clearly articulate defect reproduction steps and communicate critical information.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write and execute test plans.
  • Working understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile environments.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong team ethic.
  • ACTIVE DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing web-based systems and applications.
  • Experience working with test scripts.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality management principles.
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in test automation and modern QA practices.

Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit content to identify errors in grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, consistency, and spacing.
  • Test user interfaces (UIs) for functional issues in both desktop and laboratory environments.
  • Assist with test case creation and author test plans for assigned projects.
  • Execute functional and automated tests, identify defects, and document them clearly in the internal bug tracking system.
  • Articulate precise reproduction steps and communicate critical issue information to development and project teams.
  • Verify and validate fixes once they are implemented.
  • Collaborate across departments to support program quality objectives.
  • Support maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct audits of teams and documentation within the QMS per ISO audit guidelines, identifying nonconformities, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of test procedures and quality processes.
