About The Position

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Junior Merchandiser responsible for facilitating timely soybean meal deliveries through truck and rail programs and ensuring consistent, detailed communication among internal traders, external counterparties, and feed mill personnel. The role manages shipment pipelines, prepares weekly shipping instructions, and plans logistics to minimize costs. It also communicates shipment and usage status and works with the risk management team.

This salaried position is based in Greeley, Colorado. Travel to other facilities, company events, or other business-related situations may be required as business needs dictate. The position offers a base salary range of $59,000–$72,000 and eligibility to participate in the company’s annual bonus plan. Pilgrim’s offers medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning after 60 days; paid sick leave, vacation, and six company-observed holidays; a 401(k) with company match beginning after the first year of service; and learning and development programs supporting professional growth.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in agriculture, economics, agricultural business, finance, or a related field.
• Computer aptitude for database management, including SAP, various computer languages, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
• Ability to work well within the Trade team.
• Ability to learn all aspects of the PPC Trade business, including vendors, logistics, sales, and administration.
• General knowledge of accounting processes and ability to reconcile information.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Strong work ethic; self-motivated and driven.
• Ability to perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness and ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Nice To Haves

• SAP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of production agriculture is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage rail and truck pipelines to ensure timely deliveries to Pilgrim’s feed mills.
• Develop weekly shipment instructions.
• Determine and execute least-cost logistical plans.
• Communicate with internal and external teams to quickly determine shipment and usage status.
• Communicate effectively with the risk management team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
