The Junior Line Cook role at Stella's focuses on maintaining and exceeding guest satisfaction by preparing dishes according to recipes and standards. This hands-on, fast-paced position also involves supporting the team by maintaining a clean, organized work environment and is ideal for individuals looking to grow their culinary skills. Training will be provided across various stations, including Sandwich, Salads, and Grills, depending on experience level.

Requirements

Maintain Manitoba Food Handler and WHMIS certificate
Willingness to learn and take direction
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team. This include both verbal communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests.
Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.

Nice To Haves

Previous kitchen or food prep experience is an asset, but not required

Responsibilities

Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
Assist in the preparation and assembly of menu items during service
Follow recipes, portion standards, and kitchen procedures accurately
Keep workstations stocked, sanitized, and organized
Prep ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, etc.
Support line cooks during peak service times
Ensure food is prepared and presented to Stella’s quality standards
Comply with all health and safety regulations
Duties will include washing dishes and performing daily and weekly cleaning tasks
