This role is for a Junior IT & Compliance Engineer to join the remote-first team, focusing on day-to-day IT support, ensuring security and productivity for employees, and contributing to compliance efforts such as SOC 2, GDPR, and PCI. Requirements

  • Passion for computer systems, and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of IT.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with strong patience and empathy; ability to explain technical concepts simply.
  • Proactive and organized in a remote environment with solid time management and follow-through.
  • Adept with MacOS, and comfortable with remote work tools such as Slack, Notion, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with basic SOC 2, GDPR, and PCI concepts, with motivation to deepen compliance knowledge.
  • Interest in AI tooling and automation, desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for day-to-day IT requests with clear, friendly communication and timely follow-through.
  • Install, configure, and support employee hardware, software, and accounts across macOS and Windows; provide hardware/software support and resolve issues remotely to keep teams productive.
  • Work with remote employees, vendors, and contractors to fulfill IT requests and integrate external services.
  • Procure and provision hardware, manage asset inventory, and run secure onboarding and offboarding for accounts, access, and devices.
  • Assist with evidence collection and control testing for SOC 2, GDPR, and PCI-related obligations; keep audit artifacts organized and current.
  • Share troubleshooting patterns, documentation standards, and audit-readiness habits with teammates.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready records for all technical issues and access requests within the company's centralized ticketing system.
  • Occasionally support off-hours maintenance windows and small projects that improve reliability or security.
  • Ticket handling, device provisioning, account management, access reviews, and software rollouts with change records.
  • Maintain asset inventory, device encryption, and baseline hardening via MDM; ensure MFA and least-privilege access.
  • Maintain compliance evidence: policy acknowledgments, onboarding/offboarding trails, access certifications, and training attestations.
  • Keep ticket hygiene high with clear notes and resolutions; support off-hours maintenance when needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors for warranty, repairs, and service escalations; evaluate options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Write concise KBs and guides that reduce repeat tickets; keep SOPs and checklists current after changes.
  • Seek feedback, track personal improvements, and stay current with evolving IT and compliance standards.
