As a Junior Field Service Engineer – Electrical, you will be part of our talented support team, providing quality technical support to customers. This includes troubleshooting PLC-based solutions and traveling to customer sites for commissioning and installation of our equipment. This role is based in Detroit, MI, and new graduates are encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates who can program, configure, and troubleshoot ZTR locomotive operations, products, and solutions, while also providing excellent customer service via phone and in person. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally is expected for on-site commissioning and installation. Additionally, you will provide on-site technical training and presentations, and perform assigned sales support and project management tasks.
Requirements
- Two year or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering degree
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experienced with PLCs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for a variety of audiences
- Ability to work autonomously at customer sites and manage project scope & cost
- Exceptional organizational and data entry skills required for related administrative tasks
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to customer sites for on-site commissioning and/or installation of ZTR equipment
Responsibilities
- Program, configure and troubleshoot ZTR locomotive operation, products, and solutions
- Provide excellent Customer Service and Support in both field and telephone support
- Travel to customer sites for commissioning & installation of ZTR equipment
- Provide on-site technical training and presentations to customers
- Perform sales support and project management tasks as assigned
