Junior Estimator Trainee
About The Position
Launch Your Construction Management Career. Are you known for showing up on time, working hard, paying attention to details, and learning quickly? Have you worked in construction, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, manufacturing, warehouse operations, landscaping, military service, or any hands-on trade? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to move from the field into a professional office-based construction career. No estimating experience is required. We are looking for motivated individuals with mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, and a willingness to learn. You'll work alongside experienced estimators and project managers who will train you on how commercial construction projects are bid, priced, and managed.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of work experience in any construction, trade, maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse, military, or mechanical environment
- Strong attendance and work ethic
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Mechanical aptitude and curiosity
- Ability to stay organized and follow through on tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Stable work history and strong references
Nice To Haves
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, construction, maintenance, manufacturing, military technical roles, or mechanical trades is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Read construction drawings and project plans
- Measure and calculate material quantities
- Assist with project estimates and bid preparation
- Work with vendors and suppliers to gather pricing
- Learn how mechanical systems are installed in commercial buildings
