Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge of the construction industry and key principles involved in bid preparation.
Understands and uses takeoff systems.
Ability to converse with and solicit trades and comfortable with cold-calling.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
Working knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.

Responsibilities

Supports estimators on preparing bids and proposals.
Completes quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from project documents.
Applies material unit prices and labor productivities to the estimate.
Assists with bid document control and documenting, organizing, and archiving all information relating to the estimate for successful transfer to the project team.
Supports lead estimator with closing day assignments and the bid closing process.
Solicits competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers for pursuit.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders including the estimating team, subtrade partners and suppliers.
Supports updating maintenance of our subtrade database information.
Attends pre-bid site visits with senior staff.
